•             Skytrax World Airline Awards honored EVA Air with cleanest cabins

•             All of the top 10 cleanest airlines were Asian carriers

•             The extensive survey polled over 18 million passengers on 245 airlines

For those who value a clean cabin above all else, you may want to consider flying on an Asian airline.

Skytrax's annual World Airline Awards recently ranked the world's cleanest aircraft and it was Taiwan-based EVA Air that took top honors.

Rounding out the top three were Singapore Airlines in second place and ANA All Nippon Airways in third. Skytrax did not, however, test for bacteria on tray tables or inside the toilets.

Instead, they surveyed 18 million passengers on over 245 airlines to ascertain such a ranking.

Passengers were asked to assess the standards and quality of cleanliness in the aircraft cabin on airlines they were voting for.

Seat areas, including the seat back pocket, tables, carpets, cabin panels and, of course, on board washrooms were all considered in determining the final results.

The results, from passenger votes, were based on cleanliness of seat areas, tables, carpets, cabin panels and toilets.
