10+1 tips for traveling during COVID-19

With some simple tips, your trip by plane can be made safer.

 

  1. Sitting by the window passengers prevent contact with as many people as those sitting in the middle seats or the aisle seats.

  2. Try not to fly on peak days. Some of the good days to fly are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, between 5 and 7 p.m. or after 8 p.m.

  3. Be sure to wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds and rinse them with warm running water. 

  4. Every time you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth, you help viruses to enter your body. 

  5. Wear a mask, as it is now mandatory on all flights. 

  6. Wear sunglasses during the day flights. It prevents you from touching your eyes.  

  7. Always have wet antibacterial wipes with you.

  8. Sounds disturbing, but your smartphone usually carries 10 times more bacteria than the average toilet seat. 

  9. Moisturizing nasal sprays keep the mucous membranes moist and increase your chances of fighting most airborne diseases. 

  10. On a short flight, if there is no real need to visit the bathroom, it is better to stay in your seat.

  11. After landing, do not rush to get up on the runway for your departure. It usually takes several minutes for the doors to open and the passengers to slowly get out, and you do not want to be in “close contact” with other passengers on the runway all the time, potential carriers of infection.
