Starting January 1, 2026, all foreign nationals entering Georgia must have valid medical insurance covering the entire duration of their stay 🏥✈️.

✅ Mandatory for all visitors: tourism, business, or transit
✅ Minimum coverage amount: 30,000 GEL (~11,200 USD)
✅ The policy can be issued by Georgian or foreign insurance companies, in electronic or paper format, in Georgian or English.

📄 The insurance policy must include the following essential information:

• Parties involved in the insurance contract
•  Covered territory
• Subject matter of the insurance
• Start and end dates of coverage
• Insured risks
• Coverage amount (limits)
• Insurance premium
• Payment terms and location

This new requirement is implemented in accordance with Georgia’s Law on Tourism, via the Government of Georgia’s Resolution “On Approval of the Rules and Conditions for Mandatory Health and Accident Insurance for Tourists Entering Georgia.”
